Nebraska's Teachers Endorse Tom White for Congress
Omaha, NE – State Senator Tom White’s campaign for Congress received a major boost today when the Nebraska State Education Association announced an early commitment of support. In their endorsement, they cited Senator White’s “wealth of knowledge and an ability and willingness to work across party lines to find solutions to the problems facing our nation.”
“I’m honored to receive the support of Nebraska’s teachers,” said Senator White. “During my time in the Legislature, I have worked with members of both parties to ensure that every Nebraska child has access to a quality education. In Congress, I’ll be an independent, effective voice for Nebraska’s parents, teachers, and – most importantly – children.”
NSEA support is based on how candidates measure up on education issues, rather than what political party they belong to. In the last four election cycles, NSEA legislative recommendations included 3 Independents, 41 Republicans and 42 Democrats. Governor Dave Heineman was also endorsed by NSEA this weekend.
“Other than their parents, there is no one more important to our children than their teachers,” said White. “And there is no one more important to our future than our children.”
